Today a friend of mine, Laurie, and I held a crop at the Isaak Walton. A little club house in town which is perfect for scrapping, in the summer, it's right on the river so you can enjoy the weather, take walks, even climb the bluff, although finding fellow scrappers to climb the bluff with you prooved to be a difficult task for Laurie! In the winter, you can have a fire, be all cozy and scrap away. It's just a perfect place. And today it happened to be kinda rainy and gross out in the a.m. We started our day with a buy one get one free at Caribou. That is always a nice little morning "perk"! Laurie and I went down at about 8 and set up tables and got things ready. There were 11 girls total and we had plenty of space.
Once everyone was there and started scrapping we played a few games. A scavenger hunt, as we call it, where we would ask them to find things such as a yellow ribbon, pink brad, polka dot paper scrap (Mari, who took a nice 12x12 sheet of paper and ripped it apart just so she could have a scrap, she definitely got a prize!) and whoever held it up first got a prize. Scrap book related of course. We also played many rounds of scrapbooking bingo and did an hourly paper drawing.
For lunch we had shredded chicken sandwiches, chips, veggies & fresh fruit. For supper we ordered pizza. We munched on snacks all day and at night we had some delicious slushy drinks!
We had a lot of fun and can not wait to host another crop! I didn't get very many pages done, or maybe it was the fact that I didn't like nearly any of them, but it was ok because I got a day with some of my closest friends and didn't have to be home until 1 a.m.!
Laurie & I, all our hard work paid off!
