Home-made Sidewalk Chalk

Here is something fun to do with your kiddos. Make home-made sidewalk chalk. You can even make them in molds for fun shapes. The recipe and directions as follows:

1. Find a mold for your chalk, toilet paper roll, candy molds, small paper cup, etc.
2. Mix 1 cup plaster of paris with 3/4 cup of water.
3. Add color to your paints by using powdered tempera paint.
4. Blend and let stand a few minutes.
5. Pour into molds.
6. Set aside and allow to dry completely.
7. When chalk is completely dry, remove from molds.
8. Set aside again to dry, for another 24 hours.
9. All done. Draw away!

*Buy powdered tempera paint at most large craft stores.
